Meta's technology platforms have experienced significant service disruptions, affecting millions of users across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. Reports from DownDetector, a platform that tracks online outages in real-time, indicated that user complaints began accumulating around 4:00 PM Spanish time.
Although Meta has not yet provided a detailed explanation for the outage, it appears to be affecting several regions globally. Reports from various media sources, including Newsweek, indicate notable disruptions across America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. According to the specialized website Outage Report, the United States is experiencing the most significant issues, followed by the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Andy Stone, a spokesperson for Meta, acknowledged the issues on the social platform X, stating, “We are aware that users are currently having problems accessing our services. We are working on it.”
While the web applications of these platforms are functioning normally in many affected areas, most problems appear to be related to the web version of the services. Users have reported difficulties logging into Facebook and navigating through the app. Instagram users primarily face issues with the mobile application failing to open.
WhatsApp, while facing fewer issues in Spain, has seen some problems among users accessing the service via computer. Messenger, which is less popular in Spain and Europe, remains a predominant messaging service in the United States.
Users have reported a range of incidents, including loading errors and difficulties logging in, with some receiving messages that their usernames or passwords are incorrect. By approximately 6:00 PM Spanish time, Stone reported that systems were beginning to stabilize, although he noted that it might take time for complete functionality to be restored.
