A few months ago, Gonzalo Gimeno, CEO of the bespoke travel agency Elefant Travel, received an unusual request from a prominent businessman. Although the identity of the businessman remains undisclosed, the request was quite specific: to design a five-year global travel itinerary, with one month of travel each year. The destinations had to align with the curriculum his children were studying in school. After consulting with an educator, Gimeno crafted the elaborate itinerary.
Notably, the project's budget was substantial, totaling $1.2 million per month, excluding flights as the client owned a private plane. However, Gimeno faced an unexpected twist when he learned that the businessman had a fear of flying, which ultimately led to the cancellation of the planned journey. “In the end, something surreal happened,” Gimeno remarked about the situation.
