The Christian Mobile Operator's Mission
Radiant Mobile positions itself as “the first Christian mobile operator,” claiming to protect families from harmful content before it reaches users' devices. This narrative mirrors tactics employed by authoritarian regimes, including those of Vladimir Putin, Iran, and North Korea, where internet control is a common strategy.
Operating under the German T-Mobile structure, Radiant Mobile utilizes cybersecurity technology from Israeli company Allot to filter content. Certain categories are automatically blocked, regardless of the user's age, while others can be toggled on or off. The company asserts that this is all in the name of protecting minors from exposure to content like same-sex weddings or same-sex affection.
Content and Offerings
In its effort to provide “original Christian content,” Radiant Mobile offers features such as biblical storytelling influenced by artificial intelligence, biographies of saints, and games based on the Bible—all for a monthly fee of $30. Part of the profits is slated for donations to the church, and although it has just launched in the U.S., expansion plans to Mexico and South Korea are underway.

As technology advances, it increasingly shapes social realities, often to the detriment of marginalized communities. The rise of extreme right ideologies exacerbates discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals, capitalizing on the censorship narrative to stoke fear and moral panic. This trend escalated particularly during Donald Trump's presidency, which saw the banning of diverse literature and the silencing of varied voices on digital platforms claimed to be open and free.

Félix MartÃn, a prosecutor specializing in vulnerable victims, explains that this demographic draws attention due to its visibility and the political capital it offers to certain groups. The lack of information about LGBTQ+ experiences only fuels speculation and misinformation, creating an environment conducive to discrimination.
