Brussels Takes Action Against TikTok for Exposing Minors to Predatory Behavior

TikTok accounts are failing to meet the minimum legal standards designed to protect minors from potential risks associated with their activities on the platform, according to the European Commission. This assessment highlights that the Bytedance subsidiary “does not comply with the Digital Services Regulation (DSA).” In its preliminary findings, notes that the platform's configuration exposes minors to “unwanted contacts, cyberbullying, or predatory behavior,” as stated by the EU Executive on Friday.
